Ranked Races Guide

Postby McMurphy on Fri Dec 04, 2009 12:23 pm

Ranked Races refer to the KART sponsored races with scheduled times set by KART. The results of these races are recorded and a player's stats are adjusted to reflect those race results.

Any events set up between KART members privately are considered exhibition races and are not ranked. In those cases, KART organizers will not record the results.

I. How to Sign Up for Ranked Races

1.) A topic with the title similar to "Ranked Race 12/04/2009" will be posted in the Ranked Race section of the this forum every week.

2.) Post a reply with your friend code included to the "Ranked Race" topics stating that you will be racing in the event.

3.) If you are willing to volunteer as the host for the ranked race you are signing up for, state so in your reply.

4.) The ability to sign up for a ranked race normally expires 24 hours prior to the start time of the event.

5.) Be sure to be in the KART chat during events. Our chat is how you are going to communicate with the game room's host and your other competitors.

II. Ranked Races Set Up

1.) Ranked races are comprised of three GPs.

2.) All track selections must be "Random" by all players with the exception of the King of the Karts, who can select whatever track desired as many times as he/she wishes in a GP in efforts to defend the crown, and the volunteered host of the game room, who can select whatever track desired (but can only select a particular track successfully once per GP).

3.) In cases of dropped players within the first race of the first GP, the event room can be closed and reopened to start over.

4.) In cases of dropped players after the first race of the first GP, the event will continue regardless. No additional points are given to the player until they are able to join back up in a later GP within the same event.

5.) In cases of a tie, the tied players both get wins recorded to their ranks. In regards to determining a new KART King during a tie, the person tying the reigning King will become the new King in replacement of the old one. If both people are already King, no dethroning will take place.

III. Ranked Race Hosting

1.) A KART organizer is automatically an event host if he/she takes a spot on the sign up sheet.

2.) If a KART organizer is not competing in the event, players can volunteer to host the game room in trade of having the ability to select tracks while all other competitors must select "random."

3.) In cases where a KART organizer will not be racing and the event had no host volunteers, a randomized host priority is assigned by a KART organizer. For example, if Jack is assigned a "2", Jill is assigned a "1", and Joe is assigned a "3," that means that Jill needs to host the room. If she cannot compete, then Jack is next in line, and then Joe. Special track choosing privileges are not awarded when randomized hosting is implemented.

4.) The host must wait up to 10 minutes after start time if a signed up racer has yet to show up. After that 10 minute period after the scheduled start time, a GP will not be restarted for a late comer.

IV. Submitting Ranked Race Results

1.) After a ranked race event has been completed, all racers are encouraged to post the results in a "Ranked Race Results" topic with the correct corresponding date.

2.) Lack of posting results or confirming someone's posting of the results is inherently agreeing with the results provided.

3.) People have until 24 hours after a scheduled event to post or take part in confirming the posted results. After that point, the topic will be relocked, and the results will be recorded in official player standings. No contesting of results after 24 hours will be entertained.

4.) If no results should be posted what-so-ever, the ranked race event is considered void.

5.) Snapshots of scores are encouraged.
